ABOUT CONTEMPORANEO ART MUSIC
Associated to the beginning of the mythical Recording Studio “CONTEMPORANEO” in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the 80´s, were many distinguished musicians of the local scene converged, the Record Label CONTEMPORANEO ART MUSIC was created in 1983 by the virtuous Argentine producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist PEDRO MENENDEZ as the recording context for his prolific discography and extended later to a close talented community of colleagues.
After many years of experience in the independent production market, CONTEMPORANEO ART MUSIC took new impulse at the end of the year 2004 under the Co-Direction of ALEJANDRA REUTER.
Nowadays the catalogue of CONTEMPORANEO ART MUSIC has consolidated itself as one of the best alternatives for innovative musical expressions in Argentina, embracing genres like Contemporary Tango, Jazz, Latin, Fusion, New Argentine Folk and Contemporary Classical. All productions included are characterized by a high-quality criteria that prioritizes originality as well as consolidation of cultural roots of Argentina and Latin America.
As a Record Label CONTEMPORANEO ART MUSIC has participated on numerous initiatives dependent on the Argentine & Buenos Aires Creative Industries and Foreign Trade Departments, including all editions of BAFIM (Buenos Aires International Music Fair), MICA (Argentine Cultural Industries Market), BUENOS AIRES JAZZ & TANGO Festivals, Interactive Music Catalogues for main worldwide industry events like WOMEX, MIDEM, etc.
During the most recent years CONTEMPORANEO ART MUSIC has increasingly opened its doors to the worldwide market through Physical, Digital and Licensing Deals in Argentina, Brazil, USA, Canada, France, Japan & India and has been dedicated to the local and international management of live shows, including showcases at SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST Music Festival (2013-2012-2011-2010-2009-2008, Austin, Texas, USA), CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK (2013- 2012-2011-2009. Toronto, ON, CANADA), FESTIVAL SESC RIO (2008, Nova Friburgo, Teresópolis, Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL), among numerous others.
